Hatha yoga is an ancient complex of static exercises called asana that help to stretch the muscles and fascia, release tensions in the body and focus the mind. It also includes breathing exercises called pranayama as well as meditation techniques.
There is no expectation to be pretzel-flexible from day one. This will grow in time. Yoga can be practiced by everyone from early ages until late in life. It’s especially recommended for people that have static office work or strenuous physical work.
The class will start with a tailored warm-up, which is then followed by the proper asanas and breathing techniques, followed by a meditation and then ending with a full body relaxation. Done properly, one hour of hatha yoga will reset your body and mind.
Achieving optimal health through yoga is a rewarding yet a steady long-term process, not an overnight fix. It requires commitment and dedication. However it won’t take long until you notice less tiredness, more joy and higher energy in your daily life.
